About
I’m Dan Reiley. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have one sister and my parents have been married for 45+ years and still going! I attended Saint Joseph’s Elementary School in Pinole. I went to Salesians Catholic High School (an all-boys high school at the time), but I graduated from Pinole Valley High School in 1989. I spent 4 years in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. In 1994 I went to Contra Costa Community College and played basketball and performed in a lot of plays. I had a 4.0 GPA while there.
In my working life I have worked all kinds of jobs—delivery guy, telemarketer (I know!), door-to-door salesman, retail gigs, and as a bouncer at the Covered Wagon Saloon (before it was the Cherry Lounge—which it was before what it’s now known as: Drunken Monkey). Around the year 2000 or so I began to write for a video game website owned and operated by my friend Joe Markert, and did so for many years. Since 2004 I’ve worked for game development companies, with a slight hiccup for a year or so when I went and worked IT at Holy Names University. I graduated from the Art Institute of California at San Francisco in 2006 with a B.S. in Game Art and Design.
In my romantic life, I met my future wife early in May of 2005. We spoke on the phone for about a month and went on our first date in late May/early June of that year. In January of 2007 my wife and I were blessed with our beautiful baby girl Ireland. On September 5th, 2007 Krista and I were married at the Oakland Courthouse (oh how romantic!). My cousin Renee graciously bent over backwards to be our witness. In October of 2007 I went back to the game industry to work for a game development studio called Underground Development. In January of 2009 I became an employee at Cryptic Studios and that has now brought you up to speed with me.
