Hello world!
October 27th, 2009So, this is my first attempt at a blog. We’ll see how this goes. I really need to write more, and even if no one reads it, at least I *will* be writing. It’s time to knock the dust off the ol’ creativity and see what we got cookin’! I haven’t written any stories that weren’t for some sort of RPG gaming endeavor for about 10 years now. That makes me sad and it’s time to rectify it.
For the future, what sorts of writing you’ll be able to find here—well, I expect I’ll write some fiction and non-fiction, maybe serialized, maybe not. I’ll also review and/or rant about video games, the video game industry, books, music, or movies. Sometimes I may just rant (or rave) about life in general—people, places, things. And I’m sure at some point I’ll be writing about my experiences as a dad of my daughter Ireland, and I may have a thing or two to say about being a husband. Again, this isn’t going to be me “dropping pearls of wisdom” or “coming down from on high to dole out sage advice because I’m so learned”, these are just going to be my experiences and reflections upon those experiences. If you happen to gain something out of it, then I’ll be glad to have posted it!
Oh, one more thing we’ll be discussing, pretty much for the whole month of November, is my attempt to grow an awesome mustache from a “clean slate” both to raise awareness (and some donation monies—link coming tomorrow) of men’s health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer, and also to try and snag a “cameo” in Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption game. Trying specifically to grow a mustache from a clean slate is something I’ve never done and I am looking forward to the results. And to (hopefully) avoid confusion down the road, the month of November is known as ‘Movember’ (”mo” is short for mustache) in mustache-growers’- and raising-awareness-of-men’s-health-issues’- circles.
I hope you’ll look forward to more tomorrow.
